ok,
more findings about the usb WiFi dongle on skyboxes.
my mates uncle called me to advised that he had no paid channels for a few days, so i went over to have a look.
For some reason the box had gone from green for WiFi under network to hard wired.
so i turned on the WiFi, rebooted box and was green. went into the settings and when in WiFi manager got 5 timed out connecting to their wireless router.
went to the settings on the talk talk router and was on wpa and channel 1.
i changed this to wpa2 and channel 6
rebooted router, went back to box and again 5 time outs on trying to connect to router. SO tried channel 2, all the same.
so i had a spare box with me (tested for 2 days at mine and all ok). before re posting. all the same above happened with the new box.
so after a head think, i changed the router to wpa/wp2 auto and put on channel 3
and it took a few seconds more but connected
rebooted box 12 times and got the 3 red boxes pop up and all connected ok
so this could be another thing to test before blaming servers.
so what did i learn:
try diff channels on the router for connection problems.
