Getting NoCH message on the box?

Hi all, just a quick one really guys, I thought I'd have a go at seeing how the f5 looks on mytv for the first time. Plugged the mains in and ethernet and HD cable. It powered up and started to say "NoCH" and it won't respond to anything from the remote. Is this due to the fact I haven't connected my sat dish cable to the box yet? I hope so lol! Barring in mind I haven't a line or channel list yet either.
